No amp needed. they all link up and can play separate or the same music.

Im thinking of getting 2.

ilford, i was under the impression you needed the amp thing to do that though? ie - play different songs in different rooms

Yes. I have 3 separate speakers so far, all in different rooms and all linked up.

You just need to plug it in, follow the easy set up instructions, name it (bedroom, living room, kitchen etc) and off you go. You can then play the same music through both speakers or have them play different songs.

Sonos is fucking great.
